Newsletter September 2015

The growing team of NewGreenTec is happy to share the latest news with you. Looking back at the productive hot months, please find the headlines from the sunny & windy summer below.

Awards

NewGreenTec was selected to pitch at the Inno-vate4Climate (I4C) in Zurich and received an award from the Jury in Stage 1. In ad-dition, the team participated at the Start-up Fair 2015 and made it to the finals. Both events resulted in very positive feedbacks and offered a good plat-form for building potential partnerships.

Accelerator Camp

NewGreenTec was invited to participate in a 3-day Climate-KIC Accelerator Camp in Flims, Switzerland. The Team took part in several coaching modules or-ganized by experienced experts in collaboration with the Zurich University of Applied Sciences ZHAW.

Prospectus projects

Two national agencies of Nigeria (under the Federal Ministry of Communication Tech-nology) have shown in-terest in collaborating with NewGreenTec in order to test alterna-tive power for rural ac-tivities. The Team is now developing a pro-posal to fit their specific needs. Since the master thesis we had is including Switzerland, India and Ni-geria we have already some information about this country.

Another project is to provide sustainable energy from renewable resources for a castle in eastern Switzerland. We are working on a first proposal in cooperation with a partner company.

A company approached us to submit a proposal for providing the electricity for a seawater desalina-tion plant in Morocco. Also for this project we are teaming up with another company to propose a so-lution with large wind turbines up to 10kWp each.

A very interesting inquiry we have received few weeks ago. A development aid organization from Duala asked us for a quotation for 5000 Power Pyramid`s for Cameroon.

We are in contact with a major manufacturer of high-end and sophisti-cated e-scooters to im-port them into Switzer-land and to use V-Locker as display cases in stores and to generate the electricity to charge the batteries with our Power Pyramids or Power Edges.

Research

NewGreenTec starts its next collaboration with In-stitute for Solar Technology of Hochschule für Technik Rapperswil (HSR). Therefore, there will be a Power Pyramid set-up for testing purposes on campus. A student is working on a master thesis about improvement of the Power Pyramid. In par-allel we are jointly working to apply for a CTI-pro-ject on Power Edge.

Development

A new wiring and controls are being tested for Power Pyramid on a test bench which allows to run the wind turbine motor driven at different speeds to validate the data and specifications. Also with an own air blower the DS300 wind turbine and the models of the power edge and dual hori-zontal rotor power pyramid could be tested.

Further development of the V-Locker for bike park-ing facilities are initiated in partnership with an-other company. A first box was built and tested suc-cessfully.

All these activities and developments grant inter-esting opportunities for promising investments.

Best regards,

NewGreenTec - Team
